Stay: Lake Nakuru Sopa LodgeDepart Nairobi after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru, arriving by midday. After checking in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, your birding guide takes you to the lakeshore for your first afternoon birding session. The alkaline lake attracts enormous flocks of Lesser and Greater Flamingos, creating a spectacle of pink across the water. Scan the shoreline for Pink-backed Pelicans, Great White Pelicans, and Yellow-billed Storks. The acacia woodland near the lodge is home to Chestnut-bellied Starlings, Beautiful Sunbirds, and White-crested Helmet-Shrikes.
